LINKSPREED Announces UIID Issuer — Partners Will Be Able to Create Identities Inside Their Own Products

LINKSPREED announced UIID Issuer, a planned capability that lets verified organizations issue UIID identities to their users directly inside their own products, without a redirect.

USA, October 12, 2026 — LINKSPREED today announced UIID Issuer, a newly announced capability that will allow verified organizations to issue UIID identities to their users directly inside their own product, without sending the user away to register elsewhere.

This is a new announced project and will be worked on in upcoming releases.

Why every redirect costs the partner

Today, a visitor on a partner platform who does not yet hold a UIID has to leave that platform in order to create one. They are redirected, they register, and then they come back — if they come back.

Every redirect out of a signup or checkout funnel costs conversion. That cost is borne entirely by the partner, while the benefit of the new identity accrues to UIID. That is the wrong way round, and it is a rational reason for a partner not to offer UIID prominently.

UIID Issuer fixes the incentive by removing the redirect.

What is being built

An Issuer Hub in the developer console. An organization that already holds a verified company identity within UIID will be able to apply to become an issuer. After accepting the issuer terms, it receives a server-side issuer key.

One-click identity creation inside the partner’s product. Using that key, the partner can render an identity creation experience entirely within its own interface. The visitor receives an individual UIID immediately and never leaves the page they were on.

A clear claim path for the user. The new identity holder can supply an email address to receive a credential-setup link. If they prefer not to give an email address, they are offered a one-time recovery link instead — accompanied by a clear, unambiguous warning that closing the window without claiming the identity means losing access to it. We would rather show an uncomfortable warning than let someone lose an identity quietly.

Permanent issuer attribution. Every identity created through this path permanently records which organization issued it.

Why issuance is write-once

This is the single most important design decision in the project, and we want it stated plainly, publicly, and in advance.

An issuer key can create an identity. It can do nothing else.

It cannot read the identity. It cannot authenticate as the identity. It cannot recover the identity. It cannot access the identity’s data or storage. The moment an identity exists, it belongs to the person who holds it — not to the organization that issued it.

This is what distinguishes issuance from account creation as most platforms practice it. When a platform creates an account for a person, the platform owns it. When a UIID issuer creates an identity for a person, that person owns it, and it can be taken anywhere in the UIID ecosystem, including to that partner’s competitors.

Supporting controls follow from the same principle:

  1. Issuance requires proof of human presence and is rate limited per issuer, so that identities cannot be mass-generated.
  2. Issuer keys are server-side only, scoped to registered origins, rotatable from the Issuer Hub, with anomaly alerting on unusual issuance patterns.
  3. Unclaimed identities expire automatically after a defined window and are purged, which protects both the user and the integrity of issuance statistics.
  4. The information notice and consent are presented in the partner’s interface before the identity is created. Nobody receives an identity they did not knowingly ask for.

Why this matters strategically

UIID Issuer changes the shape of adoption. Instead of growth being a function of direct marketing, it becomes a function of how many partners choose to become issuers — each one a distribution channel reaching an audience UIID would otherwise have to acquire one person at a time.

It also moves UIID closer to the role that identity providers occupy in regulated markets. Issuing identities is what serious identity infrastructure does, and the capability is a prerequisite for the kind of public-sector and enterprise engagements that expect an issuer model rather than a consumer login product.

What success looks like

  • The number of active issuers and identities issued per issuer per month.
  • The activation rate of issued identities within thirty days.
  • The measured conversion improvement on partner funnels compared with the redirect-based baseline.
