ALBUQUERQUE, United States — September 3, 2026 — LINKSPREED today announced the general availability of UIID version 2.10.1, a release that, despite its minor version designation, introduces one of the most substantial sets of improvements to the platform to date. The update spans a redesigned Digital ID Page with encrypted QR code support, new PDF generation for Digital IDs, expanded badge capabilities for business accounts, a significantly simplified onboarding path for organizations, and a range of security and performance enhancements.
A Minor Version Number, a Major Step Forward
While version 2.10.1 is formally a sub-version, its scope reflects a broader push by LINKSPREED to make verifiable digital identity practical, portable, and accessible to organizations of every size.
“Version numbers don’t always tell the whole story,” said Marc Herdina of LINKSPREED. “2.10.1 is technically a minor release, but for our users it represents a meaningful leap — a cleaner Digital ID experience, stronger cryptographic protection, portable credentials, and a far shorter path for companies that want to start issuing badges.”
Redesigned Digital ID Page with Encrypted QR Code
The centerpiece of the release is a fully reworked Digital ID Page. The page now features a cleaner, more focused design that puts identity information front and center while reducing visual clutter and improving readability across devices.
Most notably, the Digital ID Page now includes an encrypted QR code. Rather than exposing identity data in plain form, the QR code carries encrypted payload data, so credential information is protected as it moves between the holder and the verifying party. This allows users to present their Digital ID in real-world scenarios — at a reception desk, at an event entrance, or during a partner meeting — while keeping the underlying data shielded.
PDF Generation for Digital IDs
Version 2.10.1 also introduces PDF generation for the Digital ID. Users can now export their Digital ID as a PDF document, making it easy to store, share, attach to correspondence, or present in contexts where a digital-native flow is not available.
Both the encrypted QR code and the PDF generation capability are being released as beta features. LINKSPREED is explicitly inviting users to test them in real conditions and to share their experiences.
“These two features are in beta on purpose,” Herdina added. “We want them shaped by actual usage. Feedback is not just welcome — it’s the point. Every report we receive helps us refine how these credentials behave in the field before we take them out of beta.”
Badges Now Available to Businesses
With this release, business accounts gain access to badges and can now create badges directly within UIID. Organizations can issue badges to recognize roles, memberships, certifications, event participation, training completion, partnerships, and other verifiable attributes — turning internal and external recognition into structured, shareable credentials.
This extends UIID’s credentialing model beyond individual identity and into organizational context, giving companies a native way to signal affiliation and achievement across their teams, partners, and communities.
Email Verification Replaces Full KYC for Business Onboarding
One of the most consequential changes in 2.10.1 concerns how businesses get started. Email verification is now sufficient for a company to access badge functionality — a full KYC verification is no longer required.
Previously, organizations faced a heavier compliance-style onboarding process before they could participate. By reducing the entry requirement to email verification for this use case, LINKSPREED dramatically shortens time-to-value: a company can verify its email address and begin creating and issuing badges without waiting on an extended verification cycle.
This change is aimed squarely at removing friction for small businesses, startups, associations, event organizers, and teams that want to adopt digital credentials quickly.
Security Updates and Performance Improvements
Alongside the new capabilities, version 2.10.1 ships with security updates that harden the platform and reinforce the protection of user and organizational data, as well as performance improvements that deliver faster load times and a more responsive experience across the application.

UIID version 2.10.1 is available as of September 2, 2026. The redesigned Digital ID Page, encrypted QR code, PDF Digital ID generation, business badge access, and the simplified email-verification onboarding path are live for users now.
